It is our desire to become a resource to impact our community, the city of Desert Hot Springs by offering services and programming that will have a multi-faceted impact
Homeless
With the closure of Roy’s Resource Center in 2017, our community has been void of a resource for our homeless population for nearly a year.
Since our inception, Word of Life has addressed the homeless issue head on by providing meals weekly as well as cooling and heating center access during the winter and summer months. To date we have served nearly 15000 meals to our community.
Goals
§ Short term- To build and erect a structure on the land attached to our church property for the purpose of providing temporary shelter for the unhoused (especially during the season of inclement weather).
§ Intermediate- To expand into treatment with wrap around services by creating partnerships with city and county organizations including other nonprofits that provide medical and mental health services.
§ Long Term- To resource relationship capital to build affordable housing on the land attached to our church.
